Anthony Huszar, MBBS

Anthony Huszar is the Program Director for the Capacity Building Program within the Epidemiology, Public Health and Impact (EPIC) unit. In addition to providing leadership to dedicated capacity development projects, which seek to develop capacity in individuals and institutions that support the vaccine ecosystem, Dr Huszar also provides direction to capacity development activities on all major grants within the unit.

Prior to joining IVI in 2023, Dr Huszar worked at the global consulting firm Mott MacDonald, where he advised governments and multilateral organisations on global health challenges and strategy. He served in various senior positions, including as Technical Director for the Global Health portfolio, Account Leader for Global Health Security, and as the Team Leader and Regional Coordinator for the Fleming Fund in Southeast Asia. To complement his career in consulting, he has worked as a doctor, was a Visiting Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and has supported several non-profit organisations.

Dr Huszar gained his medical degree (MB BChir) from the University of Cambridge, where he also earned a Master of Arts in Natural Sciences, specialising in neuroscience. He holds a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the UK’s Royal College of Physicians, as well as a Master of Science in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and LSHTM.
