IVI’s laboratories in Seoul contain microbiological, immunological, and genomic capabilities. They include Biosafety Level 3 and Biosafety Level 2 laboratories, Good Clinical Laboratory Practice-compliant laboratories, and animal facilities.
Our Science unit designs new vaccines and improves the formulation of existing vaccines. It conducts preclinical studies, evaluates the safety and performance of promising vaccine candidates, and develops technologies to support vaccine clinical testing. The lab science teams also optimize production processes to support industrial-level scale-up and transfer vaccine technologies to manufacturers. IVI’s laboratories at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute further expand its vaccine process development capacity.
IVI works with qualified vaccine manufacturers and transfers know-how so partners can lead vaccine development locally. IVI also helps manufacturers and sponsors navigate regulatory pathways toward national approval and WHO prequalification.
