IVI and Singapore

Previous Collaboration

Respiratory Pathogen Vaccines Program

Singapore began collaborating with the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) in 2004, when IVI’s Respiratory Pathogen Vaccines Program cooperated with Singapore’s KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital to provide an international training course in S. pneumoniae identification to pediatricians, radiologists, and laboratory staff at the hospital.

In 2006, PDVI initiated engagement with Singapore’s Novartis Institute for Tropical Diseases and continued its engagement with the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital to track and serotype antimicrobial susceptibility of S. pneumoniae strains.

Pediatric Dengue Vaccine Initiative (PDVI)

IVI’s Pediatric Dengue Vaccine Initiative (PDVI) hosted a meeting of the Asian Regional Research Network in Singapore in September 2005.

Vaccinology Training

Since 2004, over 20 Singaporean researchers and health professionals have received training in IVI’s annual International Vaccinology Course.
