IVI and Côte D’Ivoire

Official Relations

In 2006, the IVI Board of Trustees approved Cote D’Ivoire as an IVI member state, following a 2004 request from the Ministry of Health and Population. Cote D’Ivoire has not yet completed the accession process to become an IVI State Party.

Previous Collaboration

Supporting Independent Immunization and Vaccine Advisory Committees (SIVAC)

In collaboration with the Agence de Médecine Préventive (AMP), IVI developed the Supporting Independent Immunization and Vaccine Advisory Committees (SIVAC) Initiative as a means of capacity-building in Côte D’Ivoire and other member states. This program aimed to help countries establish a National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) to aid policy decisions regarding vaccines. In 2010, Côte D’Ivoire became the first eligible sub-Saharan African country to establish a NITAG.
