On Saturday, August 25, 2018, IVI was honored to be on the receiving end of yet another generous outpouring of support by professional Violinist Lee Sang Hee, in the form of her 15th consecutive charity concert.
This year’s ‘Lee Sang Hee Violin Recital with IVI’ included performances by Ms. Lee and 65 Friends –comprised of her associates and students. More than 300 concertgoers were in attendance, making this year’s event a resounding philanthropic success.
“It is truly touching to have so many people come together and support IVI and our mission through the power of music,” said IVI Director General Dr. Jerome Kim. “These concerts have helped IVI inform people locally regarding just how important a drop of vaccine can be to saving lives, while mobilizing resources critical to helping children in developing countries.”

Ms. Lee and Friends have shown tremendous generosity and continuous dedication to IVI and our mission of developing and delivering vaccines for the world’s poorest children by donating the entire proceeds from the 15 concerts. “Thus, it was with the deepest gratitude that IVI appointed Ms. Lee as the first IVI Giving Ambassador, thereby welcoming her as a member of the Institute,” Dr. Kim said.
Ms. Lee said: “I wish to continue staging concerts to help others as long as I can move my fingers.” It is from that same empowered position that we at IVI look forward to a continued future with Lee Sang Hee and Friends as together, we strive to achieve our shared vision of a world free of suffering from infectious disease.
