IVI’s 22nd International Vaccinology Course

September 11-15, 2023

Established in 2000, IVI’s International Vaccinology Course (IVC) is one of the longest running vaccinology courses in the Asia-Pacific region. This training program to build knowledge and practical skills related to the science of vaccines and how they are developed is a vital component of IVI’s work to accelerate safe, effective, and affordable vaccines for global health.

The 5-day course is held every year at IVI headquarters in Seoul and aims to train vaccine professionals from low- and middle-income countries with world-renowned experts from various fields in vaccinology, immunology, epidemiology, and more as faculty members. For over 20 years, the course has trained nearly 5,000 vaccine professionals worldwide and certified an additional 1,100 participants through an online course, fostering lasting collaborative partnerships in research and public health.

Following the launch of IVI’s Europe Regional Office in 2022, the IVC has been hosted at a partner site in Stockholm in addition to the flagship venue in Seoul. Follow this page for more information and the developing course curriculum.

The theme for this year’s Vaccinology Course is “Bouncing back from COVID-19: Lessons for vaccinology.”

The course features a combination of lectures, interactive case studies, and site visits presented and facilitated by experts from academia, industry, government, and non-governmental organizations. From “refresher” lectures to applied topics in vaccine discovery, development, and delivery, the course provides a comprehensive overview of vaccinology with a focus on practicality and innovation. There will also be dedicated sessions for networking and receiving feedback on current work projects.

Register for the International Vaccinology Course

We invite researchers from around the world working or studying in the field of vaccinology to register for and attend the course. We recommend that applicants have a background in vaccines and/or vaccination with English-language proficiency. The working language of the course is English, and translations or interpretations will not be available.

The 22nd International Vaccinology Course will be held at two locations:

  • IVI Headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea
  • Karolinska Institutet (KI) in Stockholm, Sweden

Lectures will be delivered and broadcasted live from both locations for a hybrid experience, and trainees will participate in interactive site visits at their respective locations.

Please note that each location has a separate registration form and will remain open until it has reached capacity. Registration will be confirmed when payment has been completed.

Registration closes on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 23:59 KST.
