The 2018 International Vaccine Industry Forum took place September 7-8 at the Dragon City Hotel in Seoul, Korea. The event was co-hosted by Gyeongsangbuk Province, Andong City, and Rep. Kim Kwang-rim of the National Assembly, and organized jointly by IVI and the Gyeongbuk Institute for Bioindustry.
The third annual event of the forum, which convened in Seoul this year, attracted more than 200 participants –among them were key players in the international vaccine community, including the Coalition for Pandemic Preparedness Innovation (CEPI), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and the Research Investment in Global Health Technology (RIGHT) Fund of Korea; as well as leading vaccine and biotech companies.
The International Vaccine Industry Forum has its roots in the establishment of the Vaccine Industry Cluster in Andong; which is expected to play a major role in the development of the vaccine industry both in Korea and globally. The Andong Vaccine Industry Cluster serves as a platform for partnerships in research, development and industrialization of vaccines, and houses IVI’s Andong branch lab.
