Julia Lynch, M.D.

Julia Lynch, M.D., is the Director of IVI’s Cholera Program leading efforts to ensure available and affordable oral cholera vaccines, develop new cholera vaccines, and generate evidence to inform vaccine policy. Other core areas of her research include ensuring available and affordable prevention of HPV-related diseases and broadening the availability of Hepatitis E vaccines to at-risk populations.

Prior to IVI, she served 29 years in the U.S. Army including assignments as the Director of the Division of Viral Diseases at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Director of the Military Infectious Disease Research Program, and Science Director for the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences in Bangkok, Thailand.

She received her medical training at Columbia University and completed a Pediatric Residency and Infectious Disease fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
