Dr. Sang Won Lee is the Senior Director of Evidence-Informed Health Strategy and Collaboration at the International Vaccine Institute (IVI). In this role, he serves as a strategic bridge between IVI and the Government of Korea, advancing vaccine research cooperation and strengthening global health partnerships to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Prior to joining IVI, Dr. Lee served over 30 years at the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), where he served as Director General of the Department of Disease Data Science. He led more than 100 field investigations, managed national vaccine R&D, and mentored Epidemiological Investigation Officers since 1999. He has also contributed to Emerging Infectious Diseases as an ad hoc peer reviewer.

Dr. Lee holds a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from Chungbuk National University School of Medicine, an M.S. in Epidemiology from Seoul National University School of Public Health, and a B.S. in Microbiology from Dankook University.
