Dhulikhel Hospital, Kathmandu University Hospital-IVI Collaborating Center

The Dhulikhel Hospital, Kathmandu University Hospital-IVI Collaborating Center was established in Dhulikhel, Nepal, through a memorandum of understanding between the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) and Dhulikhel Hospital, Kathmandu University Hospital, signed on 15 April 2026.

The center is a joint initiative between IVI and Dhulikhel Hospital, Kathmandu University Hospital, designed to strengthen collaborative health research, vaccine-related research, and capacity building in Nepal. Building on a strong partnership since 2018, the Collaborating Center will serve as a platform for scientific cooperation, institutional collaboration, and professional development in areas of mutual interest.

Located at Dhulikhel Hospital, Kathmandu University Hospital, the Collaborating Center’s activities include:

  • Exploring opportunities for collaborative projects in health research and capacity building, including infrastructure development and human resource capacity building in Nepal
  • Developing and submitting proposals for the implementation of research and continuing professional development programs
  • Conducting health research on infectious diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases
  • Advancing research on vaccine efficacy, effectiveness, and delivery
  • Supporting work on pandemic preparedness and diseases of pandemic potential
  • Promoting institutional collaboration and knowledge exchange between IVI and Dhulikhel Hospital, Kathmandu University Hospital

Through these activities, the Collaborating Center helps expand research capacity, support professional development, and strengthen long-term collaboration in support of public health and vaccine research in Nepal.
