Kevin Keen, M.A.

Kevin Keen is the Head of Communications at the International Vaccine Institute (IVI). He leads global strategies to strengthen IVI’s visibility, reputation, and impact, overseeing media engagement, content production, branding, and digital communications in support of its mission. In this role, he provides strategic counsel to senior leadership and manages a team of communications professionals, positioning IVI as a leader in vaccine research and global health. He joined IVI in January 2025. 

Kevin brings more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications at international organizations, with a career spanning Argentina, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea, Switzerland, and the United States. Prior to IVI, he served as Senior Communications Officer at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, in Washington, D.C., where he acted as spokesperson and managed communications on forced displacement, humanitarian crises, and policy issues. At the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Kevin spearheaded digital strategies and managed large-scale communications initiatives advancing the organization’s mission and resource mobilization efforts. He has also contributed to communications at the World Bank and International Trade Centre. Trained as a broadcast journalist, Kevin began his career as a television news reporter in the United States. 

Kevin holds a Master of International Service from American University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and Latin American Studies from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, both in the United States. He has also studied in Argentina and Ecuador.
