Dr. Ji-Hyun Hwang is Head of Finance and Financial Controller at the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), where she leads financial strategy, performance management, and global finance and accounting operations. As a trusted advisor to the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees, she oversees financial planning, reporting, governance, risk management, and compliance, helping to ensure strong financial stewardship and long-term organizational sustainability. She also drives globally aligned financial policies, controls, and processes across IVI and its regional offices. 

Prior to joining IVI in 2026, Dr. Hwang held senior leadership roles at SEB Corporate & Investment Banking and LG Electronics, leading strategic planning, financial performance management, and enterprise risk initiatives in international environments. She began her career at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, specializing in foreign direct investment and international trade. Throughout her career, she has led organizational transformation, strengthened financial governance, and built high-performing teams across diverse regions, with particular expertise in Northern and Central Europe, Russia, and the CIS. 

Dr. Hwang is also a researcher, speaker, and published contributor on finance, sustainability, leadership, and change management in the age of AI. She has served as a visiting researcher at Stockholm University and as a senior lecturer at an affiliated educational institution.

She holds a Ph.D. in Philology from St. Petersburg State University, graduating with highest honors as a government-sponsored scholar. She also holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Russian Linguistics and Literature from Yonsei University and has completed executive and professional programs in finance, leadership, economics, and internal trade at leading global institutions.
