IVI joins WHO Coalition of Interested Parties Network
September 10, 2025, SEOUL, Republic of Korea — The International Vaccine Institute (IVI) has joined the World Health Organization’s Coalition of Interested Parties Network, a voluntary collaborative mechanism established to coordinate and strengthen regulatory systems worldwide. The network works to enhance access to safe, effective, and quality medical products by fostering cooperation, capacity-building, and the sharing of best practices.
IVI will contribute its expertise in vaccine research, development, regulatory pathways, approval, and delivery to advance the network’s objectives. Joining the network reflects IVI’s commitment to collaborative approaches that accelerate equitable access to vaccines and strengthen global health.
“By working together with partners across WHO’s Coalition of Interested Parties Network, IVI will help accelerate global progress toward ensuring access to vaccines and safeguarding global health,” said Dr. Douglas Shaffer, IVI Deputy Director General of Global Affairs and Communications and Special Envoy for Global Health Diplomacy. “Joining this coalition highlights our dedication to collective action in building strong, sustainable regulatory capacity worldwide.”
“IVI looks forward to contributing to WHO’s Coalition of Interested Parties Network and the collective effort of strengthening regulatory systems worldwide,” said Dr. Jessica Cowden, Deputy Director General of IVI’s Clinical, Assessment, Regulatory, Evaluation Unit. “We are ready to leverage our clinical trial and regulatory networks to support coordinated implementation, share best practices, and partner with others to address regulatory challenges.”
