28 August 2026 – The International Vaccine Institute (IVI) and Malaysia’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) commemorated Malaysia’s accession to IVI at the National Innovation and Commercialisation Expo (NICE) 2026 in Kuala Lumpur on 27 August 2026, attended by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The milestone was marked by an exchange between Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Chang Lih Kang and IVI Director General Dr. Jerome H. Kim.

Malaysia’s accession opens new opportunities for cooperation with IVI in vaccine research, development, and capacity strengthening, while strengthening connections between Malaysian institutions and IVI’s global network of governments, research centers, vaccine manufacturers, and public health partners.

IVI looks forward to deepening its partnership with Malaysia and advancing shared priorities in vaccine research, innovation, and global health.
