IVI and the Dominican Republic

On 31 March 2023, H.E. Roberto Alvarez, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, sent a letter to IVI Director General Jerome Kim requesting approval for the Dominican Republic’s accession to the IVI Establishment Agreement.

On 2 May 2023, the IVI Board of Trustees voted to approve the Dominican Republic’s accession to IVI.

Remaining steps

The Congress of the Dominican Republic must ratify the IVI Establishment Agreement, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic must deposit an instrument of accession with the UN Legal Affairs office in New York.
