Journalists from 8 countries visit IVI through SNU-LG Press Fellowship Program
The visit provided IVI with an opportunity to expand and develop its international media outreach, and sensitize the journalists from different nations about vaccines, IVI, and its global mission. Dr. Christian Loucq, Director-General of IVI, gave a brief lecture to introduce the Institute’s work and achievements spanning the scientific, public health, and humanitarian fields. IVI scientists Drs. Ajit Pal Singh and Florian Marks also made presentations on IVI’s cholera and typhoid programs, and Rodney Carbis offered a tour to laboratory facilities to inform them of basics in the vaccine development process.
The SNU-LG Press Fellowship Program was jointly established in 1997 by the Institute of Communication Research of Seoul National University (ICR-SNU) and LG Sangnam Press Foundation, affiliated with Korea-based global conglomerate LG. This annual program is designed to provide international journalists with an opportunity to broaden journalistic knowledge and to enhance their cross-cultural sensitivity. It was the second time after last year that the participants of the program visited IVI.
