25 June 2026 — The International Vaccine Institute (IVI) and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) formalized a collaborative partnership through the signing of a memorandum of understanding to advance vaccine research, development, manufacturing, workforce development, and pandemic preparedness.

The agreement was signed on 24 June 2026 in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, during the NRC-IVI Workshop on Accelerating Biomedical Countermeasures for Biothreat Reduction and Pandemic Readiness by Dr. In-Kyu Yoon, IVI Deputy Director General of Integrated Development and Pandemic/Outbreak Readiness, and Dr. Lakshmi Krishnan, NRC Vice-President of Life Sciences. The signing reflects the organizations’ shared commitment to advancing scientific collaboration and strengthening global pandemic preparedness and health security. Under the memorandum, IVI and the NRC will pursue opportunities to collaborate across vaccine research and development, technology transfer, manufacturing capacity strengthening, and workforce development.
