EVERYDAY, 20,000 children under five are dying of infectious diseases in our world.

Why Vaccine

Despite advances in medicine, infectious diseases claim the lives of nearly 7 million children under 5 years old worldwide yearly. Over 90% of the victims of infectious diseases are people living in poverty, most of whom are children in impoverished countries. This stems in large part from an enormous gap in public health, especially in access to vaccines, between populations in developed and developing countries.

Vaccination is widely recognized as one of the most efficient tools for the prevention and control of infectious diseases. Vaccine eradicated smallpox, and will likely soon eliminate polio. Vaccines can save the lives of millions of more children from dreadful diseases.

Why IVI

The International Vaccine Institute is the world's only international research organization devoted solely to bringing new vaccines to the poor. The IVI is striving to close the gap in access to vaccines and global public health by developing and deploying life-saving vaccines for the poorest children.

Please join our humanitarian endeavor to ensure all of the world's children have the same access to life-saving vaccines and create a better future.
