 Photographer Kang Jeauk
Photographer Kang Jeauk held an exhibition, ¡°Tristes tropiques (Sad Tropics),¡± from November 5 to 11, 2008 at Insa Art Center in Insa-dong, Seoul.
Mr. Kang organized the exhibition in support of the IVI and its global efforts to save and protect children in developing countries from infectious diseases. The professional photographer sold his art posters and the IVI¡¯s holiday cards at the exhibition and donated all the proceeds to the Institute.
Mr. Kang, a documentary photographer, initiated the exhibition to enhance public awareness of the environment at a time when global warming has become a key global agenda. The exhibition showcased a selection of vivid photographs of tropical rainforests taken during his recent visits to Southeast Asia, including Malaysia and Indonesia.

¡°As I traveled in developing countries, I came to realize the close relationship between the environment and public health, especially children¡¯s health in tropical regions,¡± Kang said. ¡°I wanted to do something to help those children, and gladly decided to support the good cause of the IVI.¡± |
