A group of generous women rolled up their sleeves to support the IVI by forming a volunteers¢¥group, the IVI Friends Society (IFS), on June 30. The IFS, consisting of a dozen homemakers and professionals, is committed to promoting the IVI in Korea and elsewhere.
The IVI Friends Society is a result of energetic efforts by Dr. Alyaa Moussa, its founding Chairwoman, and wife of former Kuwaiti Ambassador to Korea, H.E. Zaid Al-Sherida. A professor of medicine at Kuwait University, Dr. Moussa has been an enthusiastic IVI advocate in the diplomatic community in Korea since 2004 as an IVI Goodwill Ambassador. She was intrumental in convincing Kuwait to become an IVI Signatory, and a donor to the Institute.
Dr. Moussa left Seoul when her husband¢¥s term expired in August, but she has vowed to continue her advocacy efforts for IVI in Kuwait and elsewhere as an "IVI Global Goodwill Ambassador." She will continue to serve as the IFS Chairwoman, while closely communicating with its members in Korea.

Mobile Land became the eighth member of the IVI Giving Club, a special group donation program for the Institute, at the invitation of Ms Hye-young Lee, the president of another Giving Club member, Missing Dorothy, in July. The Korean mobile communications solutions company agreed to make an in-kind donation of at least 10 million won a year by providing discounts for its Mobile Internet and Automatic Response System (ARS) services for fundraising, among other measures. The ARS allows people inside Korea to make one-time donation of 2,000 won per call to the IVI simply by dialing 060-800-7575. The IVI is seeking more Giving Club members. - Youth Messengers in action

"The IVI Youth Messengers" staged a voluntary fundraising campaign at a concert of their idol rapper Tablo and his band, Epic High, on August 26. Tablo had been appointed as an IVI Youth Goodwill Ambassador and about 30 of his fans were named "IVI Youth Messengers" in 2005. The Youth Messengers, mostly college students, received a flurry of pledges for donations at the concert, dubbed "Epik High¢¥s Fight Club" at Melon-AX Hall in Seoul, after Tablo urged fans to support the IVI.
