Professor Park Sang-Dai

The Korea Support Committee for the IVI elected Emeritus Professor Park Sang-Dai of Seoul National University (SNU) as its third President and Chairman of its Board of Trustees (BOT) during a general assembly and BOT meeting of the Committee on December 2. Professor Park will begin his four-year terms of dual appointments as KSC President and BOT Chairman on February 19, 2009, replacing its President Lee Ho-wang, and Chairman Huh Young-sup.

Professor Park made major contributions to the efforts to attract the IVI to Korea when serving as Dean of the Research Affairs at SNU in the 1990s. He has continued to serve as Special Advisor to the IVI’s Director-General Dr. John D. Clemens. Professor Park also served as the Board Chairman of the Korea Research Council of Fundamental Science and Technology, and is a member of the Korea Academy of Sciences.
