Korea Broadcasting System, a public broadcaster with the largest national network, aired 15 spots of IVI¡¯s public service announcement via KBS 1 TV channel during October and November.

KBS broadcast the PSA for a special discounted rate to help the IVI increase public awareness, as the Institute marked its 11th anniversary as the first international organization headquartered in Korea. Each spot was 40-seconds long compared with other television commercials, which are generally 15 or 20-seconds long.

The PSA featured IVI¡¯s Director-General Dr. John Clemens, and Goodwill Ambassador Jeong Jun-ho, a popular Korean movie actor who urged public support for humanitarian vaccine research. The airing costs for the PSA were generously donated by NongHyup Bank.

Meanwhile, Daekyo Children¡¯s TV aired 250 spots of IVI¡¯s 30-second PSA during November and December for free, following the conclusion of KBS¡¯ airing. Daekyo Children¡¯s TV is a popular cable channel targeting children and parents in Korea.
