IVI’s International Advanced Vaccinology Course
The International Advanced Vaccinology Course in the Asia-Pacific Region (AVC) is our flagship capacity-building program. The week-long course is held every year at the IVI headquarters in Seoul. AVC aims to build capacity in vaccine professionals primarily from developing countries by providing an overview of the vaccinology spectrum from discovery to development to delivery.
Each year, the IVI is host to world-renowned experts from various fields such as vaccinology, immunology, and infectious disease epidemiology, who participate as faculty members. In keeping with our principle of capacity-building for developing countries, we also provide fellowships to participants with demonstrated financial need.
In May, 2015, we marked the 15th year of the course. Over the past 15 years, we trained more than 1,000 people from Asia, Africa and the Americas. Planning will commence soon for the 16th edition.
